Click here to go to the www.amyglasscock.com homepage. December 10, 2025. This painting is inspired by a beekeeper named Zeke and his love of honey bees. It was a fun challenge and as I worked on it I was reminded of artist Chuck Close and all of his self portraits made with pixelated rectangles. In his work, each little rectangle is like an abstract painting and that is exactly what all the bee hive circles felt like to me. I also learned that bee faces kind of have an alien look to them. Who knew?! Merry Christmas to all and may your new year be sweet too! Click here to this painting in progress. |

"A painting lives by
companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer. It dies by the same token. It is
therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
-Tiger's Eye Magazine 1947.
