My son loves the red donuts at church and so as I was looking at one I thought "That sure is pretty." So I decided to paint a big one. I thought a lot about one of my favorite artist's, Wayne Thiebaud, while painted this one. He always has such cleaver colors around the edges of the desserts that he paints and it makes me admire his understanding of how to use color. Hopefully this one makes everyone feel happy that looks at it. Does anyone really hate a sprinkle? Hopefully not, but you never know.

"A  painting lives by companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer.  It dies by the same token.  It is therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
