During Spring Break of 2015, I returned to my favorite far off place in the middle of wild and wooly west Texas- a.k.a.Ft. Davis. The town is known for its beautiful brown rock formations that create a pictureesque backdrop for an 1800's US Fort and for a tiny dusty town. I discovered my inspiration for this painting as I was hiking above Ft. Davis during the golden hour where the sunlight makes all of the colors of light look thier Sunday best. I wish that I took the time everyday to admire this light making everything in the world look so beautiful. But instead I chose to remember it with this painting.

"A  painting lives by companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer.  It dies by the same token.  It is therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
