Fort Davis, Texas, is a tiny, dusty town in west Texas that I love to visit. This Texas mountain town sits in front of an outcropping of beautiful brown rocks. It is named after the old fort from the 1800's that is still preserved there today. This image is from one of my favorite hikes in the fort area. It was a beautiful, sunny, May day with the beautiful clouds dotting the sky and cactus blooming everywhere.

Detail of the painting.

"A  painting lives by companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer.  It dies by the same token.  It is therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
