In November of 2010, I was surprised to see these mountain sheep on the rocky cliff behind the place I was staying in Ft. Davis, Texas. They blend in very well and so they are usually hard to spot. They also stay very still when they hear you. They can jump over six foot rocks with ease. It's an amazing site! I wish I could climb mountains that easily! "A painting lives by
companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer. It dies by the same token. It is
therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
-Tiger's Eye Magazine 1947.
