For a while I have been thinking about painting on a mirror.  I wasn't exactly sure how it would work but I decided to do a little experiment- so this is my first attempt.  The painting is based on some photos that I took of the Turnagain Arm in Alaska.  This painting constantly changes depending on the lighting and where the viewer is standing.  The mirror shows through in the water, on the horizon line, and a little in the clouds.  I also left a border of mirror around the painting.  The thing I enjoy the most about this painting is how interactive it is.  I am currently working on my second attempt at creating a mirror painting so stay tuned.

"A  painting lives by companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer.  It dies by the same token.  It is therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
