Introducing my painting:
"Violet the Pooch"

7.2.2009

As all artists know there are times when you just don't know what to paint.  At the same time being an artist requires a lot of discipline and practice.  So basically you have to keep working even when it is difficult to find direction.  So when I got stuck this June,  I decided to make a small painting of my dog Violet.  And it turned out being really fun.  Let me know what you think. And, if anyone out there wants to commission me to make a painting of your pet just let me know.  I am personally enjoying having violet look at me from the wall in the kitchen. (Even though she is usually on the floor watching me anyway.)

See this painting in progress here.

"A  painting lives by companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer.  It dies by the same token.  It is therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
