My next painting is based on a beautiful California beach that I visited in 2004. It is going to be pretty large: 5 feet wide (or so) on a single canvas.

I got started today!  This painting is really big! 

This is of Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands which is across the Golden Gate bridge from San Francisco.

I worked on the mountains in the backgroud and also the rocks on the right.  I also added some white water.

Sorry...it's a little out of focus today.  I worked on the right side a lot today.  I have a feeling that this one is going to be one of my best paintings yet !

Deep thought of the day:  Which is more powerful, an image or a word? 

I changed the color of the right rocks to make it come forward more.  I also worked on the dark shadows on the left. I also worked with the rocks in the middle back some too.
