This is going to be a thistle plant with a butterfly on it.

Starting to add some of the green background.

I started to add some of the thistles.

More work on the thistles. I also added some darker purple to the edges of the main thistle.

More work on the main thistle bloom. And I also added some of the leaf thistles at the top and worked on the bloom on the right as well.

I worked on the buds on the right an left today.

I worked on the butterfly today- adding brighter light yellow and some blue. I also added more to the buds on the right and left and worked on the background leaves at the top- adding more contrast.

I changed some of the plant on top's colors and added more orange to the butterfly wings.

More work on the plant on top and on the bud on the left.

I worked on the background more today. Especially the top right.

More thistles on the top.

More work on the thistle at the top. I also made some of the spiky things on the main thistle darker and I also made the sphere of the main thistle a bit more uneven.

I changed the background on the right side. Made more dark green contrast in the yellowy, lime green area.

More work on the right side background. I added more bright yellow.

This time I added some blue to the green in the right side and also to the leaves on the left. Later I toned it down a bit - making less intense- before I finished it.
