3.29.2012
March has been a busy month, but have no fear, I found my West Texas muse
during Spring Break and will be painting again soon. I am going to
paint the Guadalupe Mountains and the Golden Eagle that I got a photo of
during my trip. They are as big as Bald Eagles and I saw one and got a
photo of it. It will probably make next years calendar! Anyway, above
is my quick sketch of my new painting's layout... I have to go figure out
how big it is going to be now... stay tuned!
3.31. 2012
I'm super excited to start painting again! March was a bit too busy to
get much going... I am starting by figuring out where the road and mountains
are going to go.
I also started filling in the shapes of the mountains today.

I started to fill in the shadows of the mountains today! I am happy about
how it is turning out so far!

I started adding some shrubbery in the foreground...

More grass and shrubs.

I started adding the road in the bottom right corner.

More work on the road and a little shading on the mountains... too tired to
do too much today...
I added some see-thru orange to the shrubbery.
I added the tree on the left.
Starting to change the colors of the shrubbery on the left side.
I worked a lot on the shrubbery in the foreground. I am happy because they are starting to look dimensional.

I added some lighter colored grass on the right side today.
I worked on adding more colors and details to the mountains on the left side.
More details on the mountains today. A bit too much pink but I will fix them soon...

Changed the shadows on the mountains.
I worked on the road and the grass in the foreground today. I changed the road to a bluish grey color.
I added the golden eagle today!
I changed the eagle a bit today... adding some light to the right side of him.
I added a white line to the road and some wires to the fence.
I added grey to the wire and I think I am finished! :)
