This is a (very) rough sketch of a painting that I am going to do of some yellow leaves that I saw over Thanksgiving in Ft. Davis, Texas.

I started adding in some of the branches today.

I started to make some of the closer branches a darker brown color to show the depth of the smaller branches behind them.

I added to the darker brown branches again and started tweaking some of the colors in the existing leaves as well as adding some new ones on the right. This painting is proving to be a bit tedious...

I added a bunch more smaller branches today.

I added more leaves and added some purple to some of the branches to make them darker and appear closer to the viewer.
