Introducing my newest painting:
"Heron (in Florida)."

I based this painting on a some photos that both me and my husband took at a zoo called Jungle Gardens that is in Sarasota, Florida.  I captured this guy in shallow water right after he ate a fish.  And when he flew away his wing span was about 5 feet wide!  Beautiful!

See this painting in progress here.

Detail of the painting.
"A  painting lives by companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer.  It dies by the same token.  It is therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
