HAPPY New Year!!!! |

12.29.2005 This is my second experiment painting on a mirror. The mirror only shows through along the tree horizon line and also on the wires. The content of the painting is inspired by some photos that I took driving down the highway in Nevada. The composition for this painting was inspired by Japanese prints. What I like about Japanese prints is that they are often very vertical and they often put something in the foreground that you have to look through to see something else. They also use a lot of weird angles which I, of course, like to use as well. If you don't know what the heck I am talking about I posted some examples in my artistic hero's page here. See this painting in progress here!

"A painting lives by
companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer. It dies by the same token. It is
therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
-Tiger's Eye Magazine 1947.
