I decided to paint another image from my Maui trip. This plant is called a silversword and it only grows on Maui. It is extremely beautiful because it actually looks silver! God was good to me and even let me see it blooming at Haleakala National Park on top of an active volcano in Maui. I am really proud of this one because I think that it captures of bit of the beauty that God created there. Click here to see this painting in progress! Detail of image.

"A painting lives by
companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer. It dies by the same token. It is
therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
-Tiger's Eye Magazine 1947.
