5.24.2007 There is something strange about living in a city that never gets dark. I always look for the stars and I miss them. At the same time, I like the way that light reflects off the pavement at night. You know, Houston has Christmas lights year around if you look for them. Especially if you get stuck on the highway at night. Talk about some red blinky lights! Anyway, I took this photo outside of my church on Taft Street here in Houston. I have ideas for more Houston circle paintings so stay tuned! Also, take a look at my new photos from Brazos Bend State Park (link above). I could have been mauled taking them, but I guess it wasn't my time yet. See this painting in progress here.

"A painting lives by
companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes
of the sensitive observer. It dies by the same token. It is
therefore a
risky & unfeeling act to send it out into the world."
-Tiger's Eye Magazine 1947.
